Salesforce Winter ’17 sandbox preview
The Salesforce Winter ’17 release is quickly approaching, and soon you’ll be able to take advantage of great new features! As an Enterprise or Unlimited Edition customer, you can test new features and customisation in your sandbox before your production organisation is upgraded go to the website.
The Sandbox Preview window for Winter ‘17 is scheduled to begin September 9, 2016. If you would like your Sandbox organisation to take part in the Winter ’17 Preview, your Sandbox must be active on a preview instance by September 9, 2016 to take part in an overall instance upgrade.
If you already have a sandbox you need to check whether you need to refresh this sandbox or do nothing to be on Winter ’17 Preview. Follow these steps:
- Check the location of your Sandbox by logging into your production org and navigating to your Sandbox List page (Search “Sandbox” in the Quick Find bar on the Setup Home Page).
- Once you have your sandbox location, click here to review the chart about what actions you need to take.
Notes:
- If you are refreshing onto a preview instance, do not refresh after you activate the Sandbox on your preview instance. If you do, you will be refreshed to a non-preview instance. Between September 3, 2016 and the date in which your production org is upgraded to Winter ’17, all Sandbox refreshes will be directed to non-preview instances. We cannot perform a refresh to a preview instance between those dates.
- If you decide to stay on the current Summer ’16 release, your Sandbox will not be upgraded to Winter ’17 until October 15, 2016.
